President's Welcome

On behalf of the LSUS Foundation, its Board and Members, I welcome you to our official website. It is a very exciting and fun time to be in Shreveport, Louisiana and a part of our region’s premier public university. We are on the verge of what appear to be very positive and substantial economic events for our community. Cyber Command and Haynesville Shale are changing the metrics that we have all learned. We need to move with these events to enhance our already excellent university by changing its role, scope and mission to be a complete part of the economic engine that drives our area’s economy.

As Bruce Simon, our President last year said, we must increase our offerings of educational opportunities at the master’s and doctoral level. We have made great progress towards these goals and I pledge to you that I will do everything in my power to make the expansion of educational offerings the top priority of this Foundation..

Please consider joining the members of the Foundation with your financial support so that we may continue to have the resources to provide the funds needed to raise our university to the next level. Scholarships, faculty support, and advocacy are our primary focuses.

We ask you to mark your calendar for our annual River Bend Revue which will be held on September 3, 2008 at the Horseshoe Casino Riverdome in Bossier City, Louisiana. We look forward to seeing you there!
