President's Welcome

On behalf of the Board of Directors and the membership of the LSUS Foundation, welcome to the LSUS Foundation website! I look forward to serving as the President of the Foundation, and  believe that by working together we can accomplish great things for LSUS. I commend the Foundation’s past leaders in making superb progress over the last several years and know that we must strive to continue this success in order to provide academic excellence and financial support for students and University programs.

I am asking that you become involved in our efforts by becoming a member of the LSUS Foundation.  Chancellor Marsala will soon celebrate forty years of faculty and administrative leadership at LSUS.  We celebrate his tenure as chancellor and want to assist his continuing determination to meet the higher education needs of our community while maintaining academic excellence.  Enhancing degree programs both at the undergraduate and graduate levels is a current priority for his administration and we want to do everything possible to provide assistance.  I hope you will agree that an investment in academic programs for the future leaders of northwest Louisiana and our region is a worthwhile cause.

Our membership donors play a critical role in support of the LSUS faculty, staff, and students by providing scholarships, faculty endowments, and essential funds that are not provided by the State of Louisiana.  All donations, whether restricted or unrestricted, are directed toward university programs and are not used for staff salaries or benefits.  Foundation members and spouses are invited to participate in many university-sponsored programs throughout the year, including outstanding guest speakers.   I think you will enjoy the enlightened fellowship offered by Chancellor Marsala and our 250+ members.
