Hibernia National Bank

For many years Hibernia has been committed to improving the educational, economic, cultural, and social service needs of our community.  Hibernia directs its educational support to a variety of academic projects for students of all grade levels and scholastic development.  Programs which motivate and challenge today's youth, especially in early childhood, receive special emphasis.  Hibernia has also placed an emphasis on higher education, helping change the lives of students who might otherwise not have the financial resources to attend college.

At LSUS Hibernia has sponsored numerous programs and initiatives.  For example, for several years they have sponsored the $10,000 Hibernia Bank Outstanding Senior award which provides four $2,500 scholarships to students who have demonstrated superior academic achievement at the university.

They also are the title sponsor for the LSUS Hibernia Pilots Classic, a golf tournament fundraiser that annually provides more than $10,000 for scholarships for the university.  Hibernia has also provided support for the University’s numerous community outreach programs including its support of KDAQ Public Radio.

Hibernia corporate generosity is not limited to education.  Hibernia is dedicated to supporting non-profit agencies which enhance the quality of life for citizens who are ill, disadvantaged, poor, elderly or handicapped.

Hibernia recognizes the importance of art and cultural events in the overall development of a community.  Its contributions have helped introduce youngsters to visual and performing arts; assisted in offering museum exhibits, musical presentations and cultural displays; and allowed for hands-on and outreach experiences that benefit greater numbers of people.  Also, through partnerships with local performing and visual arts organizations, Hibernia helps to keep music, dance, and culture a permanent fixture in our community.

Hibernia also supports programs which help build our community, strengthen it economically and provide benefits for a wide segment of the population.  Because the bank is an integral part of the areas it serves, Hibernia supports the work of groups which seek to increase civic involvement and pride and help improve government, economic development and the environment.  This includes sponsoring programs which help Hibernia address the needs of low- to moderate-income neighborhoods, such as affordable housing, economic development and technical assistance.

Hibernia also encourages its employees to provide financial support for community needs by offering a matching gift program matching $1 for every $1 the employee donates.  Hibernia has not only encouraged its employees to personally contribute both time and money, but has been very supportive in encouraging its employees to take leadership roles in philanthropy and community involvement.
