SHREVEPORT, La. - LSUS junior and All-GCAC selection Mike Pilgrim was selected as the GCAC Player of the Week in the final weekly award of the 2008-09 season, announced today by the league's office.
Pigrim helped the Pilots reach the GCAC Tournament finals for the fourth consecutive season by collecting two double-doubles on the week. He scored 18 points and grabbed a career-high 14 rebounds in the Pilots quarterfinal win over Dillard, while scoring 16 and pulling down 10 rebounds in the GCAC semis.
The award is Pilgrim's second Player of the Week honor this season.
