Biography: Jed Jones begins his fifth season at the helm of the Lady Pilots soccer team looking to build upon the team's recent sucess. Since being named the Head Women's Soccer Coach at LSUS in 2005, Jones and his Lady Pilots have compiled quite an impressive resume.
The core of underclassmen from 2005 led the Lady Pilots to a 12-6 record on the year which was highlighted by the team's first NAIA Region XIII Tournament selection. Coach Jones was recognized as the LSWA Women's Soccer Coach of the Year Award while six Lady Pilots were selected to the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference All-Conference Teams.
The 2006 version of the Lady Pilots Soccer program went on to win their first GCAC Championship after posting a 6-2 conference record, and advanced to their second consecutive Region XIII Tournament.
Jones' 2006 squad posted a record breaking 14-wins in a single season, surpassing the 2006 mark of 12 wins. LSUS once again placed six members on the 2006 GCAC All-Conference Teams.
In 2007, the Lady Pilots posted an 11-8-1 record and placed five players on the All-GCAC team, while advancing to the Region XIII semifinals.
Prior to LSUS, Coach Jones was the Head Men's and Women's Soccer Coach at Centenary from 1997 to 2004, compiling a 77-45-7 record with the Ladies. At the end of the 2003 season, Jones' career winning percentage ranked him 4th in NCAA Division I.
Jones has coached soccer players from "under six" to professionals, and has played professionally for eight years, the last two as a player-coach. He holds a U.S. Soccer Federation "A" Coaching License and an International Coaching License with the Football Association of Ireland.
He is a member of the National Soccer Coaches' Association of America and the U.S. Youth Soccer Association, where he is also a member of the Olympic Development Program Regional Staff.
Jones will also be the Head Coach for the Inagural season of LSUS Men's Soccer.
"In the summers," he said, "the program invites each state to send its best soccer players to our evaluation camp. During the week, it's my job to select the best of the best for our national teams. I take great pride in this position and it gives me access to the nation's best players."
Coach Jones and his wife Dr. Stacey Jones have been married for 14 years and are the proud parents of Carson Reed (01/01/2001), Landry Kate (11/24/2003) and Jacob Wilson (12/18/2007).
