LSUS’ MARSHALL, CALHOUN RECEIVE ALL-CONFERENCE HONORS (11/10/2009)
Hattiesburg, Miss. - The Gulf Coast Athletic Conference announced today the 2009 Women's Soccer All Conference Teams. Two LSUS players, Alicia Marshall and Torie Calhoun, were named to the Second Team All-Conference.

Jackson, MS-The LSUS women’s soccer team (7-6-1) season ended on Tuesday afternoon, in Jackson, MS, as the Spring Hill Lady Badgers (8-8-1) defeated them by a final score of 1-0.

Shreveport, LA-The LSUS men’s and women’s soccer teams will play in Jackson, Mississippi on Tuesday, November 3rd for the Conference Tournament play in game against Spring Hill College.

The LSUS women’s soccer team (5-1-1) won their fifth game of the season on Saturday afternoon in Tyler, Texas as they defeated Texas College 4-0. This marks the second victory of the season for LSUS against TC.

Seven first-half goals resulted in an easy home win for the Lady Pilots. Brenna Bussart and Caitlin Smith each had two goals apiece, while freshman Shelley Davenport connected on the first goal of her LSUS career. Michelle Williamson, Rachel Alexander, and Julia Vaughan also scored a goal in the 8-0 rout of Alcorn State. Julia Vaughan, a 5’8 sophomore led the 2006 version of the LSUS Lady Pilots to a 14-4 overall record and a second straight Region XIII Tournament birth with a team high 17 goals and eight assists. The fleet-footed forward from Shreveport, LA garnered 1st-Team All-Gulf Coast Athletic Conference honors, and has just been selected to the 1st-Team All-Louisiana list by the Louisiana Sports Writers Association.
 
Jed Jones receives GCAC Coach of the Year Award; Six Lady Pilots named to All-GCAC teams (11/20/2006)
LSUS Women’s Soccer Head Coach Jed Jones led the Lady Pilots to a 2006 Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Championship in just his second season at LSUS. His Lady Pilots finished 6-2 in the GCAC, and 14-4 overall en route to their second straight NAIA Region XII Tournament appearance. Jones’ 2006 squad posted a record breaking 14-wins in a single season, surpassing last years mark of 12-wins; making his career record at LSUS 26-10 overall. LSUS graduates just two seniors from this year’s team which will make the Lady Pilots a force to reckon with once again in the 2007 season.

Shreveport, LA---The LSUS Lady Pilots entered their 2006 Gulf Coast Athletic Conference season opener looking to improve to 7-1 on the season while playing host to the Belhaven College Blazers (5-3, 1-2). Alicia Marshall and Katrina Blackwell combined for two goals and two assists in the second half for the Lady Pilots Tuesday en route to a 3-1 victory over the Blazers extending their win streak to six games.

Shreveport, LA---Julia Vaughan and Alicia Marshall collected two goals a piece leading the LSUS Lady Pilots to a 4-0 victory over NCAA Division I Southern University-Baton Rouge Jaguars. Kelsi McNew made four saves in the contest en route to her fifth shutout this season as the Lady Pilots improved their overall record to 6-1 on the season.

The LSUS Lady Pilots soccer team has kicked off their season and have jumped off to a good start. After beating their first opponents of the year 6-0 against D-I school Southern University of Baton Rouge and losing only 1-0 against D-I squad Northwestern State University, the team is feeling good about how they are playing.

Shreveport, LA---Just two months after competing in the 2005 Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Championship game and advancing to the Region XIII Tournament with a 12-6 record in their first year of competition, LSUS Head Women’s Soccer Coach Jed Jones has been hard at work looking to find the pieces to the puzzle that will lift his Lady Pilots to the next level. Jones and the Lady Pilots are excited to welcome who they believe will be one of those pieces by announcing the official signing of Rachel Alexander from Parkway High School.

HAMMOND – The LSU women’s soccer team placed a state-high three players on the 2005 LSWA Women’s Soccer All-Louisiana Team, which was announced on Saturday.The Lady Tigers were one of four state schools with multiple players on the first team. Northwestern State, Southern and LSU-Shreveport placed two each on the 11-person first team.

Mobile, AL---The Gulf Coast Athletic Conference announced the 2005 All-Conference teams Tuesday afternoon. The LSUS Lady Pilots landed three freshmen on the GCAC First Team All-Conference list, and added three others on the Second Team All-Conference list.
 
Cinderella season comes to an end: Lady Pilots lose 2-1 vs Lady Rams (11/2/2005)
Mobile, AL---If ever a team has been backed against the wall heading into an elimination match, it was the LSUS Lady Pilots Tuesday night. After a 6-1 loss in the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Tournament championship at the hands of the 24th ranked University of Mobile Lady Rams, the Lady Pilots needed to regroup and prepare for a rematch as they were up against the same Lady Rams in round one of the Region XIII Tournament just three days later. Despite losing leading scorer Katrina Blackwell due to illness, and an injury to forward Julia Vaughan in the 10th minute of the first half, the Lady Pilots put forth a champion’s effort, but in the end dropped a 2-1 decision to the Lady Rams.
 
UM earns GCAC title with 6-1 win over LSUS (10/30/2005)
Mobile, AL---The LSUS Lady Pilots were one win away from winning a Gulf Coast Athletic Conference championship Saturday night, but ran into the University of Mobile Lady Rams who exploded for six goals, four of which came in the second half, to take the GCAC title by a final score of 6-1 over the Lady Pilots.
 
Lady Pilots earn title birth in GCAC Championship with 3-1 victory over Crusaders (10/28/2005)
Mobile, AL---In the semi-final round at the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Tournament Friday night in Mobile, AL, the #3 seed LSUS Lady Pilots took on the #2 seed William Carey College Crusaders. The Crusaders jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the 10th minute of the first half, but the Lady Pilots responded with three unanswered goals, two off the foot of freshman midfielder Julia Vaughan to take a 3-1 lead into the half. LSUS held off the Crusaders in the second half limiting them to three shots on goal and went on to win their first ever post season match 3-1, and are bound for the GCAC championship game Saturday night versus the University of Mobile Rams.
 
Lady Pilots lose overtime thriller 2-1 to SUU (10/23/2005)
Shreveport, LA---The LSUS Lady Pilots played host to the Southern Utah University Thunderbirds Sunday afternoon at the Swamp looking for their third victory of the year over an NCAA Division I opponent. The two teams battled to a 1-1 tie throughout regulation forcing overtime for the first time in LSUS soccer history. Just 3:18 seconds into the extra frame, Shaley Ipson gathered a loose ball in front of LSUS goal keeper Sarah McLean and drove home the game winner to improve the Thunderbirds record to 6-3-6 on the season.
 
Lady Pilots earn #3 seed in GCAC tournament with 4-1 win over Lady Blazers (10/22/2005)
Shreveport, LA---The LSUS Lady Pilots (11-3, 2-2) ended their freshman season in the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference with a 4-1 victory over the Belhaven College Lady Blazers (4-11-1, 1-2-1) Saturday afternoon at The Swamp. Just 2:26 into the first half, Lady Blazers Robin Emfinger found the back of the net for a 1-0 lead. The Lady Pilots however bounced back four unanswered goals to take their GCAC regular season finale 4-1.
 
WOMEN’S SOCCER: LSU-SHREVEPORT SHOCKS SOUTHEASTERN, 2-1 (10/1/2005)
HAMMOND – LSU-Shreveport’s Shaderia Evans scored on a free kick with less than two minutes remaining in regulation to snap a 1-1 tie and send the Lady Pilots to a 2-1 upset victory over Southeastern Louisiana Friday afternoon at the Southeastern Soccer Complex.
 
Lady Pilots reschedule match versus Lady Lions (9/29/2005)
The LSUS women’s soccer team has rescheduled its match with Southeastern Louisiana University and will face the Lady Lions on Friday at 4:30 p.m. at the Southeastern Soccer Complex.
 
Lady Pilots reschedule match versus SLU (9/22/2005)
Shreveport, LA---Uncertain weather conditions due to Hurricane Rita have forced LSUS to reschedule their match versus Southeastern Louisiana University which was to be played tomorrow afternoon in Hammond, LA. The rescheduled date has yet to be determined.
 
Lady Pilots cruise to 6-0 over Lady Jackets (9/20/2005)
Shreveport, LA---The LSUS Lady Pilots poured in five goals in the first half versus the LeTourneau University Lady Jackets Tuesday afternoon at The Swamp and went on to collect their 7th consecutive win by a final score of 6-0.
 
Lady Pilots win streak continues with 3-0 victory over Warriors (9/17/2005)
Conway, AR---If you told LSUS women’s soccer coach Jed Jones at the beginning of August that is Lady Pilots would be 6-2 at the half way point of their inaugural season, he would have said “I expect to be.” After a 3-0 victory of the Hendrix College Warriors Friday afternoon the Lady Pilots are just that; 6-2 overall despite losing their first two regular season games.
 
Blackwell earns Region XIII Player of the Week honors (9/14/2005)
Shreveport, LA--- The LSUS Lady Pilots soccer team has responded from back-to-back losses to begin the season with a current five game winning streak to improve to 5-2 in their inaugural season on the campus of LSUS. Lady Pilot leading scorer Katrina Blackwell, a freshman from Harker Heights, TX, scored two goals, including the game winning goal in a 4-2 victory over East Texas Baptist University (TX). The forward also added two goals and had an assist in the Lady Pilots’ 8-0 win over NCAA Division I opponent Texas Southern University, and recorded an assist in a 2-1 victory versus Millsaps College (MS), for a total of 10 points leading LSUS to a perfect 3-0 record on the week, and earning her Region XIII Player of the Week honors.
 
Lady Pilots top Lady Majors 2-1 for 5th straight victory (9/11/2005)
The LSUS Lady Pilots traveled to Jackson, MS Sunday afternoon to take on the Millsaps College Lady Majors, looking to extend their current four game win streak. Michelle Williamson converted on a penalty kick with just 1:47 remaining to break the 1-1 tie and send the Lady Pilots on to victory by a final score of 2-1.
 
Blackwell and Bussart combine for 4 goals in 8-0 win over Tigers (9/9/2005)
Shreveport, LA---The LSUS Lady Pilots (4-2) played ungracious hosts to the NCAA Division I Texas Southern University Tigers (0-3) Friday afternoon at The Swamp as they went on to collect their fourth consecutive victory and third shutout of the year by a final score of 8-0.
 
LSUS improves to 3-2 with win over Tigers (9/6/2005)
Shreveport, LA---After starting the season with a 3-1 loss at the hands of William Carey College, and a 9-1 loss to Northwestern State University, many spectators on the outside looking in may have been thinking “well, their a first year program, what do you expect?” LSUS Lady Pilot Head Coach Jed Jones expected a lot more from his team and they have responded in a big way. The Lady Pilots rattled off their third win in a row with a 4-2 victory over the East Texas Baptist University Tigers (0-2-1) Tuesday afternoon at The Swamp to improve to 3-2 on the year.
 
Lady Pilots blank the Ozarks, 4-0 (9/6/2005)
Clarksville, AR---The LSUS Lady Pilots soccer team traveled to Clarksville, AR to take on the University of the Ozarks in a Saturday afternoon matinee. The Lady Pilots picked up their second shutout of the year as they went on to defeat the Ozarks by a final score of 4-0 to improve to 2-2 on the season.
 
Blackwell propels Lady Pilots to first win with hat-trick (9/2/2005)
Shreveport, LA---Lady Pilot Brenna Bussart headed in her second goal of the season in the second minute of play off a high sailing corner kick by Shaderia Evans which proved to be the game winning goal in an afternoon of history for the Lady Pilots (1-2) as they defeated the Louisiana College Wildcats (0-1) 6-0.
 
Lady Pilots fall 9-1 versus NSU (8/28/2005)
NATCHITOCHES– Northwestern State University was ranked as the preseason favorite to win the Southland Conference in the 2005 season and showed why Sunday afternoon as they improved to 2-0 with a 9-1 win over the now 0-2 LSUS Lady Pilots on the campus of NSU.
 
Crusaders crash Lady Pilots debut with 3-1 win (8/26/2005)
Shreveport, LA---At 5:00pm Friday afternoon the campus of Louisiana State University in Shreveport was introduced to their newest members of the LSUS Athletics Department; the Lady Pilots soccer team. As they marched single file to mid-field before taking their positions on their newly renovated home turf, which has temporarily been named “The Swamp”, they caught their first glimpse of a Gulf Coast Athletic Conference opponent in the William Carey College Crusaders. After the blow of a whistle, history was made as the clock started on the first official collegiate soccer game at LSUS
 
Lady Pilots Take on Crusaders Friday Night in Season Opener (8/22/2005)
Shreveport, LA---Head Coach Jed Jones waited anxiously throughout the summer for his players to arrive on campus to begin their academic and soccer careers at LSUS. The Lady Pilots have arrived and are ready for action. The team has yet to step on the playing surface versus an opponent, but believe that they are ready for the upcoming challenge. "In the past three weeks, these girls have not only shown me that they have the talent to play the game, but that they know the game," said Lady Pilots head coach Jed Jones.
 
LSUS women’s soccer open try-outs set for August 6th at 10:00am (7/11/2005)
Shreveport, LA---Head women’s soccer coach Jed Jones will be holding the last open try-out for the 2005 season Saturday, August 6th. LSUS Women's Soccer Team Currently Recruiting (8/12/2004)
During the fall semester the soccer staff will be on the road recruiting. We plan to be at club tournaments and high school games. If you are interested in LSUS soccer please contact Coach Jones. Applicants are also encouraged to fill out the Soccer Recruiting Form and return it to Coach Jones.
