International Admissions

Welcome to LSU Shreveport! We are so glad that you're considering our university for your academic career. We serve international students in two main capacities, International Admissions and International Student Services.

The International Admissions office is located on the first floor of the Administrative Building in the Admissions office. Here, you can have all your questions answered regarding required documentation and other necessities for admission. Please contact for more information.

The International Student Services office is located on the first floor of the Business/Education Building in suite 119. Our purpose is to assist international students in their pursuit of higher education and also to provide immigration counseling when appropriate. In order to completely process your application for admission, the appropriate items must be received and evaluated before a formal admission decision can be made. All transcripts and correspondence must be accompanied by an English translation, if required.

Please note, that while in the U.S., students on B-1/B-2 visa may not engage in any courses that are eligible for credit even if the course is online. Study leading to a U.S. conferred degree or certificate is not permitted on a visitor (B) visa, even if it is for a short duration. International students are defined as "non-immigrant" visitors who come to the United States temporarily to take classes. A non-immigrant is someone who:

  • Intends to stay in the U.S. temporarily.
  • Does not have U.S. citizenship or legal permanent resident status (Green Card).
  • Applies for a visa to be allowed entry into the U.S.
  • Already has an F-1 student visa or is seeking an F-1 student visa.
