Shreveport, LA—LSU Shreveport Athletic Director, Lucas Morgan, was featured in the September edition of the Athletics Administration, a monthly publication presented by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA).

Titled, “The Power of Morale During a Pandemic”, Morgan’s feature is a story of hope and empowerment for athletic administrators nationwide during this unprecedented era.

“We have been knocked down as a society,” Morgan wrote. “This pandemic has tested us, it has brought us to our breaking point, but it’s the individuals and the departments who are willing to be creative and to scratch and claw to find their way through the storm that will prevail.”

Currently serving in his third year on the NAIA Athletic Directors Association (ADA) Board of Directors, Morgan shared personal experiences with uncertainty and adversity in athletic departments. He suggests that leadership and teamwork are critical in order to see the other side of hardship.

“This is the time when we as administrators have to find the positive dog living inside us,” Morgan encouraged. “This is the time when we need to lead our people out of the darkness.”

Morgan has proudly led the LSUS Athletics program for four years and has seen significant growth and development during that time on the field of play and in the classroom. He additionally serves on the NAIA Competitive Experience Committee, and was selected as the 2018-19 RRAC Athletic Director of the Year.
