(Shreveport)  The LSU Shreveport Debate Team traveled to Ft. Worth, TX this past weekend and returned with another big win!  The team took the top prize in the tournament and 14 individual awards.

In the professional division the LSU Shreveport team put on a dominating performance.  All four semifinalists were from LSU Shreveport, allowing the university to close out the tournament early.  Colby Walker, a senior Business Management major took first place in the tournament and first place speaker with a perfect undefeated record in the preliminary rounds of competition.  

In the varsity division, LSU Shreveport advanced three competitors to the quarterfinals.  Elizabeth Kemp, a junior Political Science major made it all the way to the finals, taking second place in the tournament and second place speaker in the division.

Next up for LSU Shreveport will be the Southern Forensic Championships hosted by John Brown University at the end of January.  This is a major south central regional tournament that also crowns the top competitors in the state of Louisiana.  LSU Shreveport will be defending its state championship title at the tournament.
