LSUS Announces Annual Mini-Washington "Semester;" Registration Deadline Feb. 15

The American Studies program at LSU Shreveport has announced that it will hold its 33rd annual mini Washington D.C. "semester" during the interim between the end of the spring semester and the start of the summer session next year.

The May 10-26, 2016 program is open to all students regardless of major, year in school, or college / university of normal attendance. All participants pay in-state tuition for this program.

Participants stay in a downtown Washington, D.C. hotel  that is three blocks from the White House. The program consists of a series of walking-lecture tours in the D.C. area, most of which are unknown to tourists.

An optional internship is available, allowing the student to earn six semester hours of lower or upper division undergraduate credit hours. Three credit hours are available for graduate students.

The LSUS Washington "semester" is the oldest independent Washington, D.C. program at a public university in the South. Organizers said it is the least expensive such program in the nation.

Deadline for registration is Feb. 15. For further information or to reserve a slot, contact Dr. William Pederson at 318-797-5138 or
