LSUS Education Undergraduate Programs Designated Most Affordable in Louisiana

Shreveport, LA-LSU Shreveport's undergraduate education programs have been included in a listing of Most Affordable Teaching Certificate Bachelor's in Education Programs in Louisiana released by The website serves as a resource for Teacher Education Programs across the U.S.

"Our department's mission is to train teachers who are impactful and reflective practitioners, culturally responsive, creative and innovative, deeply engaged in our communities and thought leaders in the profession," Dr. Cay Evans, Chair and Professor for the Department of Education said. "To be able to do this with face-to-face instruction, small class sizes and affordability is unrivaled. This ranking conveys our commitment to our community, region and state."

Nationally accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP), the university's undergraduate programs include elementary and secondary education. The programs lead in affordability as they cost $30 less per-credit hour than the state average for similar programs at public colleges.

To determine its listing, found qualified Interdisciplinary Training Programs (ITPs) in the state and compared state-average cost-per-credit. All programs with lower than average per-credit costs made the list.
