LSUS Honors Program to host Distinguished Author

October 20, 2014

The LSUS Honors Program is proud to present Kermit Poling in a public discussion on Monday evening, October 20 at 6:00 pm in the Noel Library atrium. The setting will be informal as Poling chats with audience members about his life as a composer as well as his passion for musical performance and Red River Radio. Poling is appearing as the fall, 2014, Honors Program Distinguished Author.
Program faculty wanted to expand the definition of “author” this semester into a broader artistic sphere. Students in the Program will receive copies of the two-disc Tarzan: Lord of the Louisiana Jungle DVD for which Poling composed the music and provided the narration as a starting point for this expanded conversation.
Refreshments will be available at 5:30 pm. The program will begin at 6:00 pm and there is no charge to the public for this event. For further information, please contact Dr. Linda Webster at 318-797-5376 or by e-mail at
The LSUS Honors Program is supported in part by generous donations from the Noel Foundation and the LSUS Foundation.
