LSU Shreveport is excited to announce the inaugural event of the Dr. George and Rita Kemp "LSUS State of the University" Forum. This informational community event is set for Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at 7:30 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. and will be held in the University Center Ballroom with breakfast served at 7:30 a.m.

The forum was created as a way to better inform the community of the value of the University by enriching its quality of life and advancing its economic development. The forum is funded by the Dr. George A. and Rita Kemp Endowment for the Public Forum. Dr. Kemp, the long-time chair of the Psychology Department, is most remembered for his vision, leadership and work in planting the beautiful trees and ornamental bushes on the LSUS campus.

Chancellor Larry Clark will provide a state of LSU Shreveport presentation, focusing on new initiatives and how LSUS is engaged in the community. Caddo Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Theodis L. Goree will be the first Kemp Forum Community Responder. Dr. Goree will speak to the collaboration between Caddo public schools and LSUS.

If time permits, questions and comments will be accepted from the audience, with the assistance of the members of the LSU Shreveport Debate Team.

The community is invited to attend the Kemp Forum. There is no cost to attend but pre-registration is required. Please RSVP to Dolly Salter at 318.797.5257, or email to
