Undergraduate

Academic Eligibility

  • 2.0+ US secondary/high school grade point average, or equivalent
  • Completion of a recognized secondary education qualification
  • Official academic transcripts from all secondary and tertiary/higher education institutions attended must be received by the University no later than 30 days prior to the start of your program.
  • All international credentials/certificates/degrees are required to have a Course-by-course credential evaluation completed by a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services or the Association of International Credentials Evaluators. Evaluations must be sent directly from the evaluation agency and may be emailed to admissions@lsus.edu.
  • ACT or SAT Test Scores required if <3.0 GPA
    • ACT: English = 18+ and Math = 19+
    • SAT: Reading & Writing = 500+ and Math = 510+

Graduate

Academic Eligibility

  • 2.5+ overall undergraduate grade point average (with no graduate work attempted) OR 2.75+ grade point average (in the last 60 graduate hours attempted) AND a 3.0 GPA in all attempted graduate work with no grades of D or F
  • Completion of a recognized tertiary education qualification
  • Official academic transcripts from all US secondary and tertiary/higher education institutions
    attended must be received by the University no later than 30 days prior to the start of your
    program
  • All international credentials/certificates/degrees are required to have a Course-by-course credential evaluation completed by a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services or the Association of International Credentials Evaluators. Evaluations must be sent directly from the evaluation agency and may be emailed to admissions@lsus.edu.
  • International medical graduates submit credential evaluations from www.fsmb.org or
    www.ecfmg.org.
  • GMAT or GRE scores, if required by program
  • Interview or Academic Intent Statement, if required by program

 Some applicants may be exempt from English proficiency requirements if they:

  • Earned a US high school diploma or any degree from an accredited US tertiary/higher education institution

  • Have a 2.5 overall GPA with 30 credit hours of university-level coursework at a regionally accredited US higher education institution, to include one non-remedial course each in Mathematics and English, or two consecutive non-remedial English courses

  • Are a national of or completed secondary or tertiary education in a country where English is the official primary language of instruction (some departments or degree programs may still require English proficiency tests or an additional interview): Anguilla; Antigua and Barbuda; Australia; The Bahamas; Barbados; Belize; British Virgin Islands; Canada; Cayman Islands; Dominica; Ghana; Gibraltar; Grenada; Guyana; Ireland; Jamaica; Kenya; Lesotho; Malta; Mauritius; Montserrat; New Zealand; Nigeria; Seychelles; Singapore; South Africa; St Kitts and Nevis; St Lucia; St Vincent and the Grenadines; Trinidad and Tobago; Turks and Caicos Islands; Uganda; United Kingdom; Zambia; Zimbabwe.

Approved agencies must be a member organization of either the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services or the Association of International Credential Evaluators. Evaluations should be sent directly to the LSUS Admissions Office or emailed to international@lsus.edu.  

* Applicants from partner universities may be exempted from this requirement if the partnership allows but must submit official transcripts sent directly from their home university Registrar to admissions@lsus.edu.
