Transcript Requests

As of January 1, 2023, a $10 fee will be assessed for each transcript request.

Louisiana State University Shreveport is now processing all transcript requests through a partnership with Parchment.

This ordering process is only able to issue transcripts for courses taken through the LSUS campus. It is not available for non-credit courses pursued through the LSUS Continuing Education Division.

To request a transcript, current and former LSUS students can either log into your myLSUS or go directly to Parchment to order your official transcript.

Nursing students should contact the Nursing Department at (318) 798-4173 to request an official transcript.

If a user experiences a barrier, please contact a transcript coordinator at 318-797-5140, registrar@lsus.edu, or in person at One University Place, AD 168, Shreveport, LA 71115.

*Please note that this service is secure and encrypted.

Transcript Evaluation

Students are required to have official transcripts from each college/university previously attended sent directly to the Registrar's Office, regardless of whether credit was earned.

LSU Shreveport accepts credits from institutions accredited by one of the regional accrediting agencies/commissions at the time the credits were earned. Credits earned from some non-accredited institutions are accepted on a limited basis. The initial evaluation of transfer work is conducted by the Registrar's Office to determine acceptance of credit. The applicability of transfer credits to a specific degree program is determined by the Academic Dean's office.

Some courses transferred in may not apply to a specific degree program. This may include credits earned more than ten years ago. Students should refer questions about transferring courses into degree programs to the appropriate Academic Dean's office or the Registrar's Office.

Once completed, the official evaluation of credits can be viewed online via  myLSUS.  The evaluation will list all courses that have transferred into LSUS.  The evaluation on myLSUS denotes the LSUS course numbers, where appropriate, for those courses that are equivalent to LSUS courses.  Courses listed with no LSUS course number are considered transferable, but a course equivalency could not be assigned.  For a quick reference of transfer equivalencies within the State of Louisiana, please consult the  Board of Regent's articulation matrices for General Education, Business, and Natural/Biological Sciences courses.

Courses taken at the freshman and sophomore level (courses at the 100 and 200 level) at two-year colleges may not be counted for transfer credit as upper-level courses (courses numbered 300 and above).

If you have any questions regarding transfer of credits or transfer equivalencies, please contact the Registrar's Office at 318-797-5140.

International Transcripts
Transcripts from schools outside the United States must be evaluated by an approved independent evaluation service, with associated costs to be paid by the student. The evaluation will verify the accreditation of the school and establish the credit equivalencies so that LSUS will be able to give you as much credit as possible. Please request an English translation (if not in English) and a course-by-course evaluation be sent directly to the LSUS Records Office. The evaluation may take 8 weeks or more so please check the application deadlines to ensure that your evaluation is received prior to the deadline.
