LSU Shreveport Strategic Plan 2030

Following the approval of the LSU System Scholarship First Strategic Plan in February 2024, LSU in Shreveport began the process of developing its next Strategic Plan, 2030: Piloting the Future of LSU in Shreveport. This task was given to the LSUS Planning Council, a broad-based committee of faculty, staff and students representing the entire campus.  Building on a draft developed in 2023, the committee began its work in earnest in March 2024.

The committee’s work progressed over a period of months, with all meetings announced in advance and open to the entire university community. As they were developed, draft goals and strategies were broadly shared with various constituencies across campus, as well as with the LSU Shreveport Foundation Board. At several points, suggestions were solicited from the entire University community, generating hundreds of responses, which were carefully reviewed. Finally, the Chancellor’s Cabinet set targets for the assessment of the plan.

This extensive, monthslong drafting and vetting process built a comprehensive blueprint that will guide LSU in Shreveport over the next five years. As we implement the new Strategic Plan, we will publicly report on our progress here.

Goal #1: Cultivate Student Success

  3. Promote development of original research or practice-based curricular initiatives informed by scholarship
  4. Align scholarship with regional job opportunities
  5. Increase extramural funding
