Biography
Abdul Samad is an Adjunct Professor at the Institute for Nonprofit Administration and Research (INAR) at Louisiana State University in Shreveport (LSUS).
In addition to his role as an Adjunct Professor at LSUS, Abdul serves as the Assistant Director of MPI at the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy. Abdul is passionate about advancing professional development within the philanthropic sector. He designs and delivers tailored training programs and certification courses for nonprofit leaders, philanthropists, and institutions, both locally and internationally.
Abdul’s research focuses on the intersections of philanthropy, community collaboration, nonprofit management, and civic engagement of marginalized communities. He is the author of Nonprofit Collaborations in Diverse Communities: Challenges and Opportunities in Muslim-Led Organizations, a book that explores key dynamics within nonprofit collaborations in diverse and minority-led contexts. He has actively engaged and consulted with philanthropic foundations, nonprofits, and government agencies to translate research into practice. His research work has been published by prestigious outlets such as Routledge, Edward Elgar Publishing, Voluntary Sector Review, Foundation Review Journal, Journal of Public Affairs Education, and Indiana University Press.
