SHREVEPORT, LA. - LSUS Men’s Soccer’s Adam Gonzalez has been named the Red River Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week, announced by the conference office on Monday.
Gonzalez had a career week for the Pilots. He scored his first goal of the season in the Pilots' 3-0 victory over No. 11 Georgia Gwinnett. Then against conference opponent Texas A&M Texarkana, Gonzalez scored two second half goals to go along with a first half assist en route to the Pilots dominating the Eagles, 4-1, for their third straight win.
“Adam is very deserving of this recognition after two strong performances by our team and himself individually,” said LSUS Head Coach Phillip Bohn. “He stepped up big for our team and was unselfish through it all. His energy and understanding of the game have shown as he was able to adapt quickly to a new role.”
The Pilots will be back in action on Thursday, October 21st as they head to Tyler, Texas for a matchup with RRAC opponent Texas College. The match is set to begin at 3:30 p.m. CT.
