SHREVEPORT, LA. - LSUS Women’s Soccer’s Chelsea Brown has been named the Red River Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week, announced by the conference office on Tuesday.

Last week, Brown scored two goals against ETBU en route to the Pilots winning their first match of the season on Wednesday, August 25th. After being down 1-0 going into halftime, Brown scored in the 48th and 54th minute to give the Pilots the lead and propel them to victory. It was Brown's third and fourth goal of the season through only three games, ranking her No. 2 in the nation in goals scored. It was the fourth match of her career with multiple goals, as she did it three times last season.

“Chelsea is very deserving of this recognition after her performance against ETBU,” said LSUS Head Coach Mark Matlock. “She has been in great form and it will be important to our success that she continues to capitalize on her opportunities in front of the goal. She has had a fantastic start to the season and has been a spark for our offense.”

The Pilots will be back in action Monday, September 6 at home against the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma. The match will begin at 2 p.m. CT.
