BOSSIER CITY – The good times will roll a little early in Bossier City’s Brookshire Grocery Arena as LSUS will host its graduation ceremonies Friday led by Robert Trudeau’s Blanc et Noir Second Line Brass Band.
The second line band leads the graduation procession out of the arena, and what will follow are LSUS graduates ready to improve upon their careers or start new ones with a degree in hand.
LSUS will confer 1,249 degrees and 19 certifications across two ceremonies Friday.
The ceremonies begin at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. with the graduates’ last name and degree program determining which ceremony they are assigned.
No tickets are required to attend the event, and graduates can invite as many guests as they would like to the 14,000-seat arena. Parking is free.
The ADA entrance is located on the north side of the building, which includes a wheelchair accessible ramp. Parking lot A is reserved for handicapped guests.
LSUS alumnus Katy Murray, who is the president of DallasNews Corporation after a storied career in the accounting, corporate services and technology fields, will deliver the keynote address.
Both ceremonies will be livestreamed through the LSUS YouTube channel.
