SHREVEPORT, LA. LSUS Athletics has announced that Miann Ferison will be the new Assistant Athletic Director for External Operations. Ferison joins LSUS after working most recently as a freelance marketing consultant. Prior to that she was instrumental in shaping the corporate partnership between LSUS and Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers in her role as the Area Leader of Marketing. She also held marketing positions for the Shreveport-Bossier Mavericks and Kentucky Mavericks.

“I am very excited to add Miann to our team,” said LSUS Athletic Director Lucas Morgan. “Her background fits the position perfectly and she will be a major factor in moving our department forward. Her energy for the position did not go unnoticed and I’m looking forward to everything she will accomplish.”

As a freelance marketing consultant, Ferison developed and helped implement strategies for both new and existing products. She influenced all phases of marketing, from design and distribution decisions, to advertising and public relations messaging, and finally to planning and executing events. She communicated with clients and vendors on the project listings and assets that required a keen understanding of communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

Ferison's experience also dates back to her time as the Area Leader of Marketing for Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers. During that time, she was the marketing advisor for three market DMAs (Shreveport-Bossier, Monroe/Ruston, and East Texas-Tyler, Longview, Nacogdoches, and Texarkana) which consists of 14 restaurants total. She managed daily marketing operations for area DMA, while reporting weekly sales. She assisted with the overall marketing department goal planning, strategy and strategic initiatives, budgeting, and calendar planning. She also assisted in the preparation and presentation of requested operation meetings when needed, and executed and negotiated all regional and collegiate partnerships.

“Coming on board at LSUS is a dream come true,” said Ferison. “Lucas and the team have done a phenomenal job with a championship program across the board. I am ready to jump in and create partnerships, fundraise, and execute exciting game day promotions. I am excited to work with several of our businesses in the area to bring that support to LSUS Athletics.”

With the LSUS Athletics Hall of Fame Golf Classic and alumni weekend fast approaching, Ferison will hit the ground running as LSUS prepares to host an amazing Hall of Fame Weekend. She will begin her duties Monday, October 11th.
