Biography
I am a counselor educator and researcher, certified rehabilitation counselor, and a licensed professional counselor with over 10 years of experience. I started teaching in a substance abuse counseling program at Dallas College and then with the rehabilitation counseling program at University of Alabama upon graduation in 2010. I also spent six years building my international experience in Colombia teaching and helping start small businesses through digital media and audiovisual projects, as well as conducting academic research with local Colciencias research groups. I began my tenure at LSUS as an assistant professor in the counseling program in August 2022.
My work experience includes teaching undergraduate, graduate and doctoral-level counseling courses; accreditation preparation; evaluating faculty teaching and student learning; and editing and participating on student dissertations. I also provide vocational expert testimony services for Social Security Office of Hearings, as well as wellness practitioner services in my private practice.
