The Women in LeadHERship Conference is hosted annually by LSU Shreveport with the help of dedicated female community members. This conference brings together women from across the Ark-La-Tex to discuss Health, Empowerment and Resiliency, uplifting women from all backgrounds in the process. 

This annual event attracts women from a wide range of industries and career stages—from ambitious students to established local leaders and entrepreneurs—creating a powerful platform for inspiration, networking and professional growth.

Dr. LaTonya Mister, PT, DPT
Founder of SOW & REAP Physical Therapy 

Dr LaTonya Mister, a native of Mississippi, is the Founder and Owner of SOW & REAP Physical Therapy. She started SOW & REAP Physical Therapy out of her passion for treating pelvic health issues in both women and men. She received her bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from Mississippi State University and her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in 2008. She has over 10 years of treating those with pelvic floor dysfunctions. Since starting SOW & REAP PT, Dr Mister has been recognized on both the local and national level. Apart from her professional career, she serves on, supports, and volunteers with other local organizations. She is a military spouse and a mother of 2.

Senior Insurance Consultant, Motivational Speaker, and Co-Owner of Greater Self LLC

Amy Young is a multifaceted professional with deep expertise in insurance and personal development, and she balances her career with her roles as a mother, wife, and entrepreneur. With over 12 years of experience in the insurance industry, Amy brings a unique blend of skills in complex claims management and corporate leadership, complemented by her academic background in Business Management and Psychology. 

As co-owner of Greater Self LLC, Amy dedicates herself to helping others discover inner peace, overcome obstacles, and achieve personal growth. Greater Self provides life coaching services, organizes purpose-driven events, and offers motivational content, including her well-received ebook, Becoming Greater - Shifting Your Mindset, and her podcast, Greater Talk, which inspires listeners to embrace their potential. 

A proud native of Homer, Louisiana, Amy’s own journey of self-acceptance fuels her commitment to promoting purpose-driven lives. She hosts the annual Vision Board Brunch for both adults and teens, events that fosters community connection and empowers individuals to turn their dreams into reality. Known for her compassion and determination, Amy has inspired countless women through her speaking engagements and she actively supports women’s retreats as a coordinator and speaker. 

In all she does, Amy remains dedicated to uplifting others, promoting purpose, and fostering meaningful connections. Her unwavering commitment to these values has made her a beacon of inspiration in her community and beyond.

Jovon Brumfield
Leadership Coach, Trainer, and Founder of Lagniappe Business Services, LLC 

Jovon "Jeaux" Brumfield is the founder and principal consultant of Lagniappe Business Services, LLC, a minority woman-owned consulting firm headquartered in Shreveport, Louisiana.  

A Certified Behavioral Specialist and GiANT Worldwide Certified Leadership Coach, she brings over 25 years of expertise spanning business administration, human resources, accounting, and insurance. Jovon has more than 10 years of experience in executive leadership roles, having served as Director of Human Resources at Harrah's New Orleans, New Beginning Schools, The Providence House, and Volunteers of America Southeast Louisiana. 

With a bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Louisiana Tech University and a Leadership Development Certificate from the University of New Orleans, Jovon seamlessly blends her academic background with hands-on experience. She is passionate about empowering leaders to cultivate self-awareness, foster empathy, and build collaborative environments. Her mission is to bridge gaps in understanding, transforming relationships and driving success for individuals and organizations alike. 

A true “Louisiana girl,” Jovon was born in New Orleans and raised in Shreveport. When she’s not inspiring others, Jovon cherishes time with her fiancé Gary and her daughters, Aubrey and Nia.
